On arrival at your chosen home you will be greeted by a warm welcome from your host family. Owners eagerly share their inside knowledge about local places of interest to visit, festivals, local gastronomy and traditions. Guests at Solares de Portugal houses will find a range of leisure opportunities at their disposal, such as fishing, hunting, golf, swimming, rambling, tennis, horseback riding, cycling and wine tasting.

Dinner forms an important part of family life in which guests are often invited to participate, providing the opportunity to become acquainted with your host family and share your day's discoveries with other guests. Conversation often continues well into the night, gathered around a log fire with a glass of Port wine to hand. Portuguese gastronomy is renowned worldwide for its famous wines such as Vinho Verde, Port, Mateus, Madeira and Dão; excellent seafood such as salmon, trout and shellfish, and its tasty pork and beef dishes. Several houses produce their own specialities including a range of wines, cheeses and honey.

DINNER:
Dinner is available at several houses at an extra cost. Those requiring an evening meal should give plenty of notice to their host.

APARTMENTS:
All apartments provide the necessary utensils and equipment for preparing meals on a small scale. Provision of breakfast, linen and towels is also included.

SEMINARS:
Several houses have facilities for meetings/seminars, some of which will also provide lunch, dinner or light refreshments.

SOLARES DE PORTUGAL fall into 3 different categories for which the prices vary accordingly - although our trademark of excellence is consistent throughout.

Category A

Stately Homes, finest Manors and Palaces, luxuriously furnished and often surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Category B

Manors, Country Houses, many of which date from the 18th century and carry the traditions of their ancestors.

Category C

Rustic Cottages and Farmhouses, which have been converted into comfortable apartments.

PRICES:
Prices are per room/apartment per night, and include a private bathroom and traditional breakfast. Extra beds are available only for children up to twelve years of age.

RESERVATIONS:
Reservations are to be made directly to TURIHAB through its Central booking - CENTER, by email to info@center.pt  or info@turihab.pt, fax +351 258 931320 / 258741444, phone +351 258931750 / 258741672 or using our website www.solaresdeportugal.pt. CENTER will then do its utmost to confirm each reservation or to offer alternatives. Clients have to stay for a minimum of 3 nights in each house. Reservations can be distributed throughout the different regions, within the houses mentioned previously.

The total payment is required at the time of the reservation. Payment can be made by Bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express Card. 

CANCELLATION FEES:
·  31 days before expected arrival - 25% from the total amount 
·  From 30 days to 15 th day of expected arrival 50% from the total amount 
·  From 14 days to the day of expected arrival full payment
