Molenhuis Onder de Kastanjes

This miller's house, which dates from 1870 is the residence of gallery owner Jacoba Wijk. Both mills which stood at this site have long since disappeared but the miller's house has been declared a national monument. The house still retains its original box-beds, beamed ceilings, shutters, panel doors and window-pane benches. The residence Verhildersum in Leens in the vicinity of Onder de Kastanjes surely merits a visit. Next to this residence you find restaurant "Het Schathoes" which has one Michelin star. Here, chief cook Dick Soek prepares delicious courses.
