 Mobarnane
is a peaceful Country Manor House, providing the perfect rural
retreat in Tipperary's Golden Vale, surrounded on three sides by
mountains , set in 60 acres of pasture, spring flowering woodland
and landscaped gardens. Guests are encouraged to visit the lake,
where swans, ducks and moorhens nest and, if patient, they can watch
otters play.
Less than two hours from Rosslare, Cork and Shannon, the house is
an ideal centre for this largely unexplored area. Ancient Ireland is
represented by the famous Rock of Cashel (7 miles), Holy Cross Abbey
and Cahir Castle. There are wonderful scenic drives over the
Knockmealdown Mountains to Lismore and back via the Nire Valley and
historic Clonmel. Or fill a whole day with Kilkenny's Craft Trail,
visiting workshops, potteries and glassworks.
Lovingly restored, Mobarnane has large rooms with original
plasterwork, modern bathrooms and imaginative food. Fresh flowers
from the garden and high quality bed linens (some antique) show
Sandra's attention to detail in this comfortable, welcoming 18th
century home.
