Coolclogher House
Coolclogher
House is a handsome early Victorian house, set iin a 60 acre walled
estate in the suburbs of Killarney. The building is surrounded by
mature gardens and dramatic parkland, with wonderful views of the
surrounding mountains.
Mary Harnett and her husband Maurice restored the house to the
highest standards, before opening to guests last year. Bedrooms
are large and beautifully appointed, and the reception rooms are
spacious, stylish and comfortable. These include the Victorian conservatory,
built around a huge specimen camellia, more than 170 years old.
Completely secluded from the bustle of the town and in the centre
of one of Ireland's most beautiful tourist locations, Coolclogher
House is the best and most secluded accommodation currently available
in Killarney, and is a perfect base for day trips to the Ring of
Kerry, Dingle, Kenmare and Glengarriff. Local attractions include
fishing, climbing, hill walking, cycling, horse riding and traditional
music, and there is a golfer's paradise, convenient to the world
famous courses at Killarney, Waterville and Ballybunion and is within
walking distance of the 22,000 acre National Park which surrounds
the famous lakes of Killarney.
