Farran House
Originally
built in the mid-18th century, Farran House was remodelled in 1863
in the elegant Italianate style you see today. It is located in
the rolling hills of the Lee Valley in 12 acres of mature beech
woodland and rhododendron gardens, overlooking the medieval castle
and Abbey of Kilcrea.
The house has been carefully restored and retains its original
character and charm. All four bedrooms have large bathrooms and
beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. In addition to
the antique furnishings, you will also find a grand piano in the
drawing room and the billiard room has a full-sized table.
Farran House is a perfect base for exploring counties Cork and
Kerry. It is 9 miles from Blarney, 38 miles from Killarney and 10
miles from Cork City and airport. Golf (six 18-hole courses within
20 miles), fishing (Rivers Lee and Bandon) and riding stables are
all within easy reach.
