Ballyvolane House
Originally
built in 1728, Ballyvolane was remodelled 120 years later in Italianate
style. Surrounded by woodlands, with formal terraced gardens and
recently restored trout lakes, the house has a charming, peaceful
atmosphere. A fine pillared hall features a Bluthner baby grand
piano.
Ballyvolane has private salmon fishing on 13km of the renowned
River Blackwater, with a wide variety of spring and summer beats.
The beautiful Blackwater Valley, with its many gardens and historic
sites, is well worth touring. The heritage town of Lismore, Blarney
and Bunratty Castles, the Rock of Cashel, the Ring of Kerry, Fota
Wildlife Park and Waterford Crystal can all be visited easily from
Ballyvolane. Sea fishing, beaches, riding, tennis, hill-walking
and 16 golf courses are all within a 45km drive.
