The Bower
In a peaceful village, just a few minutes from the M6, The Bower
is a spacious Georgian country house with splendid views in an idyllic
setting. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which has
the best woodland walking in northern England and the most beautiful
coastal scenery in the north-west. Leighton Moss RSPB reserve is
within walking distance, while the Lake District and Dales National
Parks are only a few miles away.
The Rothwells are keen bridge players and love classical music.
In the spacious hall is a harpsichord which Michael plays with skill
and pleasure. Sally-Ann is an excellent cook and practically everything
is home-made, including the most delicious bread. Convivial, candlelit
kitchen suppers are available as a lighter alternative to formal
dinners. This is a very comfortable home. A no smoking house.
From M6 junction 35 take A601(M) signposted Carnforth. At roundabout,
take A6 towards Milnthorpe. After ¾ mile pass under narrow
bridge, take next left (not signposted) to end, bear left. The Bower
is immediately on the right through white gates.
