Hall End

Since leaving Upton House (E2) Hugh and Angela have spent nearly two years renovating this listed Georgian farmhouse. It has wonderful views over its own park and farmland, which is in organic conversion. They have restored the gardens, reinstated a tennis court and replanted the ponds.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are pretty but decorated in classic English style. Dinner is served in the dining room with its collection of modern marine paintings, or, in the summer, in the conservatory by the outdoor heated swimming pool.

Their enjoyment of the new home is evident – ‘they look after their guests as they would wish to be looked after’.

A no smoking house.

From Ledbury take A449 road west to Preston Cross roundabout. Turn right towards Leominster on the A4172.4172. After approximately 1 mile bear to the left, signed Aylton. Continue for 1¼ miles to T junction. Turn left, following signs for National Fuschia Collection. Go past to junction with Hallend Farm straight ahead; keep left and drive is first right.
