The Old Rectory
Robin and Phyllida are delighted to welcome you into the relaxed
atmosphere of their home, a Georgian rectory set in a walled garden.
Robin is a publisher and Phyllida has been involved with The Museum
of Garden History which was started by her parents twenty years
ago.
Chawton, where Jane Austen lived, and Gilbert Whites Selbourne
is nearby. Historic Portsmouth with its ferries, harbour, HMS Victory
and the Mary Rose and Chichester with its cathedral and theatre
are only ½ hour away. Petworth House, with parkland laid
out by Capability Brown, its Turners and antique shops, is within
12 miles.
Although near the coast, it is only 50 miles from London and an
hour from Heathrow and Gatwick and there are wonderful walks over
National Trust land.
A3 south from Milford to Liphook. After Hindhead lights, turn
right after Total garage on to B3002, continue through Grayshott
and at Q8 garage (approx. 4 miles from A3) keep left. Continue to
Headley village green and after Tonard garage on left, take next
right, leaving tree on island on left. First drive on left beyond
church.
