Skirling House

The 16th century Florentine drawing room ceiling and unique iron work at the ‘Arts & Crafts’ Skirling House are reminders of the first owner, art connoisseur Lord Carmichael. Today Bob and Isobel have continued the tradition with paintings, books and other pieces and have equipped the individual en suite bedrooms to a high standard. Outdoors, beyond the croquet lawn and tennis court, stretch rolling fields and the Borders hills.

The best of local produce provides the basis for dinner, accompanied by a choice of fine wines and home baked breads.

Ideally placed for a break en route, Skirling is only 45 minutes from Edinburgh, an hour from Glasgow; and is perfect for exploring the Borders and the south of Scotland.

Skirling is on the A72, approximately 2 miles north east of Biggar. Skirling House faces onto the village green in the centre of the village.
