Applegarth House
Applegarth
House is a delightful former Manse in a peaceful situation overlooking
the River Annan, yet only 3 miles from Lockerbie and Junction 17
on the M74. The earliest part of the house was built in 1727. A
motte raised by Humphrey de Gardino (Jardine) in 1140 forms part
of the walled garden and is listed as a site of special historical
interest.
Applegarth is the perfect centre from which to explore the beautiful
Border country and Solway Coast, or an ideal overnight stop, being
only 1 hour from Glasgow and 1½ hours from Edinburgh.
Jane is an excellent cook using fresh local produce and you are
assured a warm welcome in this relaxed family home with its comfortable,
sunny and spacious rooms. Please bring your own wine.
At Junction 17, A74(M) take road to Lockerbie, at roundabout take

1½ miles signed Boreland and in 100 yards turn left back
over motorway bridge. After 1 mile, right at T junction and second

church.
