Beryl

A small nineteenth century Gothic mansion furnished with antiques, in its original thirteen acre parkland at the foot of the Mendip Hills, one mile north east of the magnificent Wells Cathedral, well placed for West Country touring.

Eddie is a well-known country antique dealer, having opened his shop in Wells in 1953. Holly, retired from the theatre, loves to entertain and has an eye for detail – in the bedrooms, on the lavish dining room table, in the drawing room and throughout the house. There is a chair lift to the first floor.

The spacious rooms give panoramic views and the landscape gardens beckon even on cold spring days. The food is fresh, good and interesting.

Leave or approach Wells on Radstock Road B3139. Follow signs to The Horringtons or ‘H’ for hospital. Turn into Hawkers Lane (not Beryl Lane) opposite Shell Garage. Drive to top of lane – see sign ‘Beryl’ continue up leafy drive, approximately 500 yards to main gate.
